God can use anything or everything. Just don't let anything use and control us and our lives." I get this a lot. This question has come up countless times in my interactions with people who desire to follow God. Some say FB is evil. The question is: Does it have a hold over you and your life? Is it a servant to you or a master over you? Has it taken captive of you or have you taken captive of it?
God can use anything or everything. Just don't let anything use and control us and our lives I have no problems using social media because that is the way I connect with many friends and kingdom folks all over the world. I go in to do what I need to and I go out. Well, sometimes it is interesting to read certain posts or articles and watch certain videos and sometimes to catch up with friends. But I usually blitz past most trivial stuff and don't hover around for hours and I use it to update friends about my life and ministry, and also to keep tabs with happenings in the life of my friends too. I use it for kingdom influence as much as I can. For me social media is NOT my life and it will never be. That's simply because I do not post ALL of my life stories there and definitely not here on world wide web too. I will be pretty shallow if my life only consists of the things I do that are posted on social media. Identity. That is it. You can have a social identity but not know WHO you really are. Who are we? We are our thoughts, our emotions, our love, our lack of love, our being, our WHO, our whats, our ifs, our whens, our hows. The big question is DO YOU WHO YOU ARE? Are you easily swayed, influenced by the latest fad, trend and happening? God is rock-solid and immovable in His character and in who He is. He has no qualms about why He does what He does, unlike us. Many young people enjoy social media because they are still in the discovery of who they are. It is dangerous to not know who you are and enter deeply into social media and allow it to shape the decisions you make in life, the choices you act upon, and shape your thinking as a person. Trivial as social media might be, it is a powerful influence and platform if you use it rightly for the right causes, such as outcry against animal abuse, fight against human trafficking and other social injustices etc. Businesses and events companies also use that as an advertising platform to publicise their products, to garner sales and to make known events. Many communities also form on FB and people from all walks of life become one as they share common interests like gardening, babies, pets etc. News, information and ideas are passed along through social media. However useful a tool and platform it might be, a lot of adults who have identity issues have no control over social media and are as much swayed and influenced and end up spending countless hours on it and even fall into some form of obsession with games and stalking or trolling others . Because it is a public platform anyone can get on it, vices and evil can also thrive on it. Hence there is a certain age limit on users. However we all know young kids who get on it usually do not enter their correct age and use a fake age instead, and that leaves them vulnerable on the open platform. In fact there is so much happening on social media you cannot keep up. You will spend your whole life keeping up if you don't have a God-given purpose you are living for in life. I AM. I AM is the biggest revelation to Moses by God in the burning bush when he was sent to the Israelites. He said to him to tell the people he is going to speak to "Tell them I AM has sent you." (Exo 3:14). God's name is "I AM". he knows WHO HE IS for sure. There is no doubt about that. Just this week, as I was asking God about an open door to minister in a particular country, this was the passage of scripture He gave me and leapt out to me. God is very sure and certain and we can totally count on Him because he doesn't go by His whims and fancies. He definitely doesn't have mood swings nor is he wishy-washy. That's why in the book of Psalms it says that those who trust in Him are like Mount Zion, immovable. A mountain is basically a juxtapose above the landscape of the earth into the skies and is so mighty that it does not move. Yet Jesus said that if we have faith like a mustard seed, we can say to the mountain be removed and it shall obey and be cast into the sea (Mark 11). Wow, that's how much more certain and powerful the gift of faith God He gives us to believe is! No matter how little it is, it is so powerful that it can move majestic immovable mountains. In tumultuous times of great uncertainties, having God-faith is very important, as that helps to keep us certain and sure in the future we have. Do you have God-faith? Ask Him for it, because in the days ahead, our very lives are going to depend on it.
