God-Ventures

The immigration officer at airport immigration in Perth turned to us and said "WELCOME HOME!". Well, we are not exactly home, because we have a heavenly home that awaits us. But at least Australia will be our earthly home for now, in this season and new chapter of our lives!

"It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going." We are walking also in the reality of v 9 "And even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith—for he was like a foreigner, living in tents. And so did Isaac and Jacob, who inherited the same promise. Abraham was confidently looking forward to a city with eternal foundations, a city designed and built by God."

Treasure Hunting for Eternal Treasures

Picture

Many call this "treasure hunt" popularised and taught by Kevin Dedmon. Well, if you needed a name I guess it can be called that. It is simply tuning into the Holy Spirit to ask Him to show you a person/a "treasure" who's open and receptive and He wants you to connect with. Earlier today as we stood near the carpark of UWA, I turned to Jason and said "why don't we tune in to the Holy Spirit to hear what He says" . Immediately I had these words "blue", "grass". Jason had the word "arts". We walked about 50 m and then saw this girl lying on the *grass*, wearing a *blue* denim jacket in front of the building that says *arts*. We walked across to the other side and continued waiting for words to pop in. Then we scanned the area to make sure there was no one else who fits the words and headed back to that girl who fits all the descriptive words. I told her straight up that she was the girl who fitted the words we had and that she was that "treasure"! She was wowed and had a God moment.  We chatted a bit and I said to her that there was this other word "handicapped" which i got and I told her it may be physical but sensed it need not be physical, but emotional or spiritual or could be something that prevents her or someone she knows that is on her heart from moving forward. She immediately opened up with us and shared with us about her granddad in America who's had lung cancer but is now cleared from it. And how her granddad is a follower of Christ and she connects with him through fb. And we prayed that this cancer will not handicap him and also prayed for the things that handicapped her moving forward be removed from her life.

We proceeded to pray with her for and for her. She was so moved after prayer cos I told her even though she's not been actively seeking God, God has been actively pursuing her! On top of these God moments, half an hour ago, 2 people spoke to her and discussed spiritual beliefs which she has yet figured out. So she said today is a very spiritual day with all these happenings.

And as i finished praying for her granddad and then for her, suddenly i saw a cute little Pink Silver Macaw (Galah) landed in front of us some meters away. I exclaimed "Hey look.. How cute! ". She looked and was moved when she then started sharing about how that's her grandma's favourite bird here; that when she first came to Perth, her grandma took many many pictures of that bird. And she said "whenever we see that bird we are reminded of grandma cos she's passed on". Then she said, "You know that's my granddad's wife! Yes, my granddad, the one you have been praying for!" She was touched by all these God moments. And i was too.. I couldn't hold back my tears thinking about this precious God moment! We hugged, exchanged numbers to stay in touch. 😊 Earlier on, I has also felt to bring a new bible along today to give to someone and i did! She was so happy to receive the bible! The uncanny thing is she's a 3rd year student at Sciences and she said that was the 1st time lying there on that grass patch in front of the Arts building(10 minutes walk away from Sciences faculty)! Half an hour later, Jason and i drove off for lunch, and as we walked into this small Asian eatery which had only about 5 to 6 small tables. I saw this other girl whom I have met before who is a student missionary here in Perth and i asked her, "Did you talk to a girl wearing blue on the grass in front of the arts building? And her name is Xxxx?" She said "Yes how did you know"? Haha. Everyday can be a Holy Spirit day if we just tune in to Him and follow His leadings. Then you will be at the right place at the right time with the right people! #Godknows
