God-Ventures

The immigration officer at airport immigration in Perth turned to us and said "WELCOME HOME!". Well, we are not exactly home, because we have a heavenly home that awaits us. But at least Australia will be our earthly home for now, in this season and new chapter of our lives!

"It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going." We are walking also in the reality of v 9 "And even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith—for he was like a foreigner, living in tents. And so did Isaac and Jacob, who inherited the same promise. Abraham was confidently looking forward to a city with eternal foundations, a city designed and built by God."

Blessed to be a Blessing

This picture tells a story of God's BLESSINGS and what it means to be BLESSED.

This morning Jason and I met a Vietnamese God-fearing married couple, who is running a cafe in an industrial area.

The couple met as refugees in Australia about 30 years ago and now have 3 sons. The eldest has completed university and is working, the second son studying to be a doctor, and the youngest is in secondary school.

It happened through a miscommunication of my food order and the man was really kind to make sure I got the right order. I wanted to tell him it was alright but he insisted on cooking my bacon and eggs the right way. Long story short, we introduced struck up a conversation with him which ended up with us having the opportunity to pray with them.

At the time of prayer, the Holy Spirit led me to pray how the "devil has come to kill, steal and destroy" but God's protection is upon them and their family. The wife was in tears when we finished praying with them.

And that led the husband to share with us
what their youngest son was going through since December. They discovered a growing malignant tumour in the boy's brain and it was growing in visibility near the right eye. Through prayer over the past months, they have seen the tumour shrinking daily right before their eyes, till the day he was scheduled for the op. And the doctor before the op exclaimed "wow, the tumour is almost gone".

As we continued to share stories of God's goodness and amazing miracles we have seen and experienced, the presence of God enveloped us and we could hardly hold back our tears.

I was BLESSED to hear how He prayed and believed God for the healing of his son. I told the man "You are BLESSED with the gift of faith. That's very precious!"

Before we left, they blessed us with more food and drinks to take away (in the picture), even though we wanted to pay for them as they insisted we receive them to pass them to our daughter.

They also further extended the invitation for us to meet the rest of the Vietnamese church, whom the husband serves as an elder. What an amazing open door to meet the large Vietnamese community here in Perth!

For many Christians, they only see having lots of material wealth and achievements as God's BLESSINGS. That is not a correct understanding of God's blessings.

From what I saw, this couple and their family was truly BLESSED. As Jesus said, "Blessed are the poor in spirit, (realising their need and dependence on God) for belongs to them is the Kingdom of Heaven!" Matt 5:3
.

In Greek it is the word  "makarios" which means happy, to be envied, blessed!

They were godly people, contented and extremely grateful with what they have been given in this life to continually be a BLESSING to others.

I love their big hearts and how they serve God through their business and work to the community who visits their café.

And we were truly BLESSED to have met them and how we can all experience His Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven as we are Blessed to be a Blessing!

May you truly be blessed of God and be a blessing to others as well!

25 years strong! Activating Others to be Naturally Supernatural!

17/6/2020

Today marks 25 years of my commitment and obedience to following Christ. 25 years ago I stepped into the waters of baptism in obedience to renounce my sins, and announce my faith and dedicate my commitment to following Jesus publicly. It was an emotional heart-wrenching moment. In those days, I was the first believer in Jesus in my family. And my parents were not approving of it. But I am glad I did it and never looked back since.

There might be times I have wavered in my love for Jesus, but never once in the whole journey have I ever doubted His love for me. Yes, never once. Several months after I was born again in Christ, I heard the audible voice of God for once and only once in my life. I remember the singing all around me faded away and I was caught up in that moment t where it was just God and me. And all I could hear was an audible voice.  It was the authoritative voice of Father God calling me by name. "Karen", the voice said. The next 3 words were etched so deep into me, it was something I would never forget.  The voice said in a loving reassuring tone, "I LOVE YOU". I broke down and cried as God spoke those 3 words to me.

I was ruined for LOVE. Forever.

Those might be just words to you but coming from a typical Chinese family with conservative parents, those words were not spoken to me growing up. Love was shown in many ways, through provision, care and discipline but strangely, love was never spoken. In the western culture, it is likely to be the polar opposite.

25 years strong, I am still following Him, and serving His purposes. So here am I, together with my husband and daughter, following Him to where He wants us for now - in Perth, Australia; my daughter in university here and us in the centre of God's will, plans and purposes. We love all that God is doing in our lives and in the lives of the people He has sent our way.

BEING NATURALLY SUPERNATURAL!

I hope this recent testimony encourages all of you who are Christ's followers:

Jason and I connected with this man and his wife who are in their 60s, last year in Perth and they both registered to attend the training/equipping session (find out more about the training and equipping intensives at www.mccnresources.org)  we conducted this March just before lockdown. I had felt a strong leading from the Holy Spirit to hold the training when we came back from Singapore and only God knows, 1 week after the session the lockdown happened.

When he first came to the training session, I knew he had a prophetic inclination but I saw that he was totally suppressed in that area of his gift being just a Sunday church-goer for over 30 years. I could see the gift was dormant in his life. I spoke quite firmly to him and he was jolted. He acknowledged that his gift had been suppressed and he had lacked bold obedience to follow the Lord after being told many times by others in church and his family, that his prophetic ideas and thoughts were crazy and brushed him off.

More recently, he started dreaming again, almost on a daily basis - not just the "I-overate-on-pizza-type" dream. In the night as he slept, God spoke to him clearly through his dreams. In 1 single day, he was given 3 clear and vivid dreams in a row!

His prophetic gift was dormant since 1995. That was the year he had one significant dream which led him and his family to Perth, and then the dreams stopped.

Over the years, I have had countless dreams and recorded them down in more than 20 over journals. Many of the dreams have come to pass in the last 26 years of my walk with God alongside various prophetic experiences. So he invited us over to his home for tea, where Jason and I spent 2 over hours interpreting all his dreams for him. Many of the interpretations became clear confirmations to him.

That night after we left his home, he felt strongly to immediately message an acquaintance who appeared in his dream. Despite highway closures that night, this acquaintance of his and spouse responded immediately to his sharing and drove over to his house through the detours.

The man related to the dream that was shared, and began sharing about how he has harboured resentment against the Lord because of the disappointments he had regarding his career and family problems. He repented of his resentment and also asked his wife for forgiveness as he also saw a vision which gave him understanding on how the devil had deceived him and gained a foothold in his life which affected his relationship with God and his family.

Picture
The amazing thing is when the supernatural happened, it did not happen in an artificial, man-made construct of a  cell group meeting, or a church service (probably hard to happen in that kind of setting and liturgy). It happened as life unfolded anywhere! And in this situation it was in the comfort of the home setting.

The truth is one does not need to be in a church meeting to exercise their God-given gifts. You are the church of Jesus Christ as you gather in His name. Why wait for a meeting to be organised for you to go to, or for Saturday cell to happen, before God can show up?

The supernatural should happen everywhere we follow Jesus - because wherever we go, as 2 or 3 are gathered in the name of Jesus, I AM is there.
(Matt 18:20)
Again I tell you, if two of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make a symphony together) about whatever [anything and everything] they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in heaven. For wherever two or three are gathered (drawn together as My followers) in (into) My name, there I Am in the midst of them.[Exo 3:14] " -
Matt 18:19-20 (AMPC - Amplified Bible, Classic Version)
The Holy Spirit has been poured out on all flesh. Young man shall see visions and old men shall dream dreams. (Acts 2)

This is the norm of being a follower of Jesus. I m excited when I see God's people move in the norm of the supernatural. It must and should happen. And it can happen in any natural setting! I m glad to be used by God to activate others in their God-given gifts. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are not for your own glam but as 1 Cor12 says they are given to build up the body of Christ.

Do you have a gift you know that has been dormant for some time? Have others in the church told you you are "crazy" or gave you looks as if you are a crazy dreamer? It is time for the supernatural to be activated again in your life. It is part of your daily adventure with God to be NATURALLY SUPERNATURAL and be a blessing to others God sends your way too!

Treasure Hunting for Eternal Treasures

Treasure Hunting for Eternal Treasures

Picture

Many call this "treasure hunt" popularised and taught by Kevin Dedmon. Well, if you needed a name I guess it can be called that. It is simply tuning into the Holy Spirit to ask Him to show you a person/a "treasure" who's open and receptive and He wants you to connect with. Earlier today as we stood near the carpark of UWA, I turned to Jason and said "why don't we tune in to the Holy Spirit to hear what He says" . Immediately I had these words "blue", "grass". Jason had the word "arts". We walked about 50 m and then saw this girl lying on the *grass*, wearing a *blue* denim jacket in front of the building that says *arts*. We walked across to the other side and continued waiting for words to pop in. Then we scanned the area to make sure there was no one else who fits the words and headed back to that girl who fits all the descriptive words. I told her straight up that she was the girl who fitted the words we had and that she was that "treasure"! She was wowed and had a God moment.  We chatted a bit and I said to her that there was this other word "handicapped" which i got and I told her it may be physical but sensed it need not be physical, but emotional or spiritual or could be something that prevents her or someone she knows that is on her heart from moving forward. She immediately opened up with us and shared with us about her granddad in America who's had lung cancer but is now cleared from it. And how her granddad is a follower of Christ and she connects with him through fb. And we prayed that this cancer will not handicap him and also prayed for the things that handicapped her moving forward be removed from her life.

We proceeded to pray with her for and for her. She was so moved after prayer cos I told her even though she's not been actively seeking God, God has been actively pursuing her! On top of these God moments, half an hour ago, 2 people spoke to her and discussed spiritual beliefs which she has yet figured out. So she said today is a very spiritual day with all these happenings.

Picture

And as i finished praying for her granddad and then for her, suddenly i saw a cute little Pink Silver Macaw (Galah) landed in front of us some meters away. I exclaimed "Hey look.. How cute! ". She looked and was moved when she then started sharing about how that's her grandma's favourite bird here; that when she first came to Perth, her grandma took many many pictures of that bird. And she said "whenever we see that bird we are reminded of grandma cos she's passed on". Then she said, "You know that's my granddad's wife! Yes, my granddad, the one you have been praying for!" She was touched by all these God moments. And i was too.. I couldn't hold back my tears thinking about this precious God moment! We hugged, exchanged numbers to stay in touch. 😊 Earlier on, I has also felt to bring a new bible along today to give to someone and i did! She was so happy to receive the bible! The uncanny thing is she's a 3rd year student at Sciences and she said that was the 1st time lying there on that grass patch in front of the Arts building(10 minutes walk away from Sciences faculty)! Half an hour later, Jason and i drove off for lunch, and as we walked into this small Asian eatery which had only about 5 to 6 small tables. I saw this other girl whom I have met before who is a student missionary here in Perth and i asked her, "Did you talk to a girl wearing blue on the grass in front of the arts building? And her name is Xxxx?" She said "Yes how did you know"? Haha. Everyday can be a Holy Spirit day if we just tune in to Him and follow His leadings. Then you will be at the right place at the right time with the right people! #Godknows

The Circle of Life

27/8/2019

The Circle of Life

"The Lion King" is a great show I never get tired watching and I could watch it repeatedly and certain scenes would have the same effect on me every time I watch - tears. The scene which shows Mufasa jumping into the midst of the stampede and saving little Simba, his son, and in the end after rescuing his son Simba, he would be at the mercy of Scar his brother who would not help him climb up the steep cliff but be pushed down by Scar. Mufasa falls into the valley to be trampled over by thousands of other stampeding wildebeests, with little Simba watching his father fall to his death and being crushed by wildebeests.

"The Circle of Life" is such a powerful song that speaks about our journey of life.  But it is something true that I can totally relate to in my life and in my amazing journey with my LION KING - JESUS. Jesus is in every way The Lion King. The Bible describes Him as the Lion from the tribe of Judah (his lineage and ancestry), but Jesus is also the King who has come to establish His kingdom here through his death and resurrection and through disciples of His kingdom. (We pray His Kingdom come!)
It's the Circle of Life And it moves us all Through despair and hope Through faith and love Till we find our place On the path unwinding In the Circle The Circle of Life" - Circle of Life, the Lion King (Music by Elton John, lyrics by Tim Rice, Official Video)
Today I experienced one of those circles of life. Yes, 1 big circle. 25 years later. From Singapore to Perth. Almost 4000km distance. Father God, the One who sees all things, past, present and future has such a sense of humour and His invisible hand is orchestrating things behind the scenes.

25 years ago, after my A-level exams in 1994, awaiting to go into university, I attended this camp which was conducted by "campus crusade for Christ" (n.k.a. "Cru" in Singapore). I had thought it was an adventure camp but it turned out to be a Christian teaching camp. Instead of sleeping in outdoor tents, we slept in classrooms of a school. Instead of hiking, we had "spiritual lectures" in the classrooms ( well, they did have games here and there - mostly indoor ones) , where we were given sheets of paper with questions and answers and blanks to fill in based on the teaching. I was not a believer in Jesus and had never read a bible or attended church. But I was a good student, and so I filled in as best I could all the blanks (Good thing they did not collect the answers, or I can't remember if they did. But at least it was not marked even if they did!).

Anyway before the camp, I knew it was organised by Christians, but I was a bored teenager and I wanted a way to kill time during my school hols, so I signed up with my best friend from Junior College who was a believer in Christ. Although I was from a Taoist,-Buddhist family background, I was determined not to be "converted" when I went in.

ALAS, on the last night of the camp, there was a speaker who delivered a message, and he preached from Luke 15 about "the prodigal son returning to the father". (Usually that passage is for those who have backslidden and turned cold to rededicate their lives to God.) But I remember identifying with the life of the prodigal son on how he had been rebellious and had left the father to go his own way and build his own life. When the call was given for a response to the message, I simply could not resist the call. I remember distinctly my heart racing at 100 miles per hour and a very strong tug on my heart.  When they played the song "When God Ran" (By Benny Hester, a song written in the 1980s), I crumbled and no matter how hard I tried to resist, I gave in.
He ran to me, Took me in His arms, held my head to His chest And said "My son's come home again". Looked in my face, wiped the tears from my eyes With forgiveness in His voice He said "Son, do you know I still love you......"

- When God Ran,  by  Benny Hester, album Benny From Here (1985) - Resung by Philips, Craig and Dean.
Picture
Tears came streaming down my eyes as I had a revelation of Father God's great love for me.  I could not resist that great and awesome love , so powerful yet so personal. I went forward in response to the altar call given, knelt down and tears kept streaming down my face and I cried for a very long time (I think it was like 45 min or at least it felt like it.) in response to God's love for me. Although I felt like a great sinner, yet His love was washing over all my sins!

After all the crying was done, I was a mess. A  "Cru" staff came and explained to me what had happened, went through the "4 spiritual laws booklet" and led me in a prayer of repentance. More tears... as I repented as a sinner before an awesome God who had sent Jesus to die for me on the cross - the God who knew no sin, became sin for me.

The next day after my encounter with Jesus, the last activity on the last day of the camp was to go street witnessing with the "4 Spiritual Laws" booklet that Cru is known for.  I was able to share with 2 young persons on the streets and even while questions and doubts started creeping in (like what about suffering? what about dinosaurs? what about...what about...), I was shocked after reading the "4 Spiritual Laws" Booklet from cover to cover (it was a palm-sized booklet of 12 pages I think) with the 2 young persons, both of them prayed the prayer of repentance to receive Jesus into their lives! Wow, I thought this God must be real cos it was definitely not my persuasive powers of which I had none to offer then.

Long story short, after the camp, I was not the same person again. I was a new creation. 6 months later I entered university, a God-given  purpose had gripped my life and I was filled with a new passion to reach others for Christ the same way He reached me on campus. By the 2nd year in University, I was leading 2 cell groups (1 in church and 1 through Varsity Christian Fellowship) and by the 3rd year, I was seeing more groups of students in the hostels coming to Christ on campus. I even considered quitting law school after 1 year of studies but at the behest of our parents and pastor, I finished 4 more long years of law school.

In 2001, again that same call so strong, similar to one that came to me the same night I encountered Christ's love, I heard the voice of Jesus call me to leave my job and follow Him. I obeyed and the next day tendered in my resignation as a lawyer to go on a crazy adventure with Him. More than 18 years now since, and I have not regretted a single moment of that choice.

Today, here in Perth, Australia (also following Jesus' call to sell my house in Singapore, divest most of my interests and ministry in Singapore to others and continue to empower them to do God's work) moving here for 4 and half months from Singapore, who would ever know I have come back to the circle of  life! If you are wondering how I ended up in Perth, you can read it at one of my earlier blogs under MY ADVENTURES - Welcome Home)

Today, through OCF (overseas Christian Fellowship- read the story of how God connected me with them through delayed dim sum in another of my adventures with God. To me every person is a piece of the puzzle!), I was able to meet up with this awesome group of students and graduates and young people from "Cru" (in Australia, Cru is known as "Power To Change"). These 20-somethings reminded me of my younger days as a believer on university campuses. I was moved and touched by what I saw. I was encouraged by the laid-down lives of these young people some of whom having just graduated with a university degree would choose to serve God and live by faith as missionaries, raising sponsorship for themselves and what they do on campus reaching out with the love of Jesus.

Picture1) Which circle is your life now? 2) Which circle would you like to choose to represent your life?
Some of them are from USA, one from another state in Australia, and one of them from Perth. This is a rare find amongst young people these days, who tend to be more concerned about their own lives, job prospects, building a career, starting a family etc. Not that these things are not important. But dying to self, taking up your cross and following Jesus (Matt 16:24) - is a call to every disciple of Christ, is not something much preached about today, much less to be practiced and obeyed.

For me, 25 years ago, the circle on the left represented my life but on that fateful day in Dec 1994, at the camp where I met Jesus Christ, I chose the circle on the right. And my journey with Him has been nothing short of an adventure!

Today things have come back 1 full circle, as I remembered the faithfulness of God these 25 years in my journey with Him. This is one of my circles of life thus far. What's yours?

Here's a great way to start if you are not yet a believer in Jesus Christ :
http://www.4laws.com/laws/englishkgp/default.htm

If you are already a believer and follower of Christ, please pray with me for more labourers in the harvest fields or become one yourself! (be that answer to your own prayer too!)

Jesus said: The harvest is truly plentiful! but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. (Luke 10:2)

Walking into God's Purposes through Delayed Dim Sum

24/5/2019

Who would ever know that we will be right here at OCF (Overseas Christian Fellowship) at the UWA campus last gathering before the exam break? God knows. Through delayed parking and late Dim Sum lunch!

It all started when I had to alight my daughter downtown 2 Saturdays ago, to meet her friends and so I decided to go wandering around and explore the city. Being totally unfamiliar with the parking system and signages in Perth, I circled around for 1 hour looking for the cheap parking space and stopped to Google to make sure I don't get a fine parking in the wrong place! I know, what you are thinking. You are probably thinking..."all that cost of wasted petrol driving around, you could have already parked for that price or less!" Trust me, downtown on a Saturday, it is still better to find cheap parking in Perth!

By the time I found parking, it was 230pm and I was famished. I walked towards the famous Murray Street and saw a familiar sighting - Tim Ho Wan Dim Sum restaurant. I recognise that! There are some of these restaurant chains in Singapore! I went in and was shown a seat, and quickly called for service. Without hesitation the waiter said: "1/2 price only applies to dine-in not takeaways." Oh wow! Nice, half price! I could save some money there. So I quickly changed my order from 1 dim sum dish to 4 dim sum dishes and a drink! :)

There was quite a crowd, and the service was taking a long time. I started observing the waiters to see if they were bringing my food. A male waiter with glasses with a pony-tail hairdo caught my attention. I felt a nudge from the Holy Spirit to talk to him. And so I waved my hand so that I could catch his attention to order another drink. (I had finished my drink and I was thirsty and could have another!)

I asked him some quick questions, and found out his name was RXXX and he was from Singapore and is a dentistry student at UWA(University of Western Australia), working part-time in the restaurant. I started asking him about UWA as I  mentioned to him that my daughter was going to be studying there next year, but it was hard to chat as service was very busy then, and so he had to get on with his work.

As I looked on to everybody else's dim sum being served, I was beginning to get a little "hangry" (state of being hungry and angry) for my delayed dim sum. When I finally finished my last dim sum dish, it was almost past 330pm, so I went to the cashier to pay for my meal. "Hang around a bit.", that is what felt the inner voice of God said to me. So I did and I just told the counter staff that I am waiting for RXXX. I could see it In the eyes of the waitresses, as if wondering: "Who is this lady hanging out and waiting for him?"  and she went towards him at the back of the restaurant and told him that I was waiting for him. Argh. I must be looking so weird and strange.

At that moment, I saw RXXX take off his service apron and started walking out. Aha, he is knocking off from his shift! We managed to walk a short distance together towards the train station. He seemed to be in a rush and he was disclosed that he is rushing to another part-time work at another restaurant right behind the street where I lived! Hmm. What are the chances!

Suddenly, as we were about to part ways, the thought came to me: Ask him about OCF (Overseas Christian Fellowship).  So I asked him if he knew about OCF. (Because I had known some friends who were a part of OCF while studying in Australia unis and some of them had come to know God through OCF. Heard amazing things that OCF has done. This year is their 60th anniversary of reaching and discipling students. OCF is an interdenominational, student-led, on-campus fellowship that is united in faith under one vision: to reach out to all overseas students in Australia, build them up to be Christ’s disciples, and send them back to their home countries as disciple-makers). His eyes lighted up and to cut the long story short, he then gave me his contact and also with the permission of his friend, he gave me the contact of his friend Jo, who is a part of OCF.  Interestingly Jo had invited him a few times there before, although he never went.

A week later, I contacted Jo. And she invited us to the OCF gathering thanksgiving night, which was the last night before they break for the exams. (Think about it: if I had met RXXX later and called Jo later, I would have totally missed going to this gathering!)

So here we are at the OCF gathering night with Max Graeig, pastor advisor to OCF UWA. And as we shook hands, he immediately found us looking very familiar. (Perhaps we had met somewhere in some Christian conference or meeting). And we were able to introduce what we do (Journeying Together Resources) and turned out there was great like-mindedness amongst us. As we continued chatting, I was also pleasantly surprised to know he is my hairdresser's bible study church leader! (I had only visited this home hairdresser recommended by another acquaintance here a few days ago!) Wow, what an intricate web of connections God has weaved and orchestrated.

With God, there are NO COINCIDENCES.
There was every reason for the delayed parking and delayed dim sum after all!
Pray with us, this is just the beginning of God's purposes!

Starling Murmurations

3/5/2019

PictureThe Holy Spirit literally sent us knocking on the door of David, Unireach. What are the chances! 1 in 2. 2 million!
This happened last week and is a late post but I wanted to share another amazing divine appointment set up by the Holy Spirit for us here in Perth, Australia. Another starling murmuration moment! (Starlings are small birds that fly in a flock of thousands and tens of thousands; and they are able to keep an amazing distance from each other in perfect formation and coordination! (Watch this beautiful video of starling murmuration on the right)

Last Thursday early morning at 4 am, I was awoken by a dream. In one part of the dream, Jason and I arrived at 1 particular empty plot of land which I had recognised from our online search from thousands of available land/house for sale. (We had sold our house, moved to Perth end of 1st week of April following the Lord's leading, which is also a fulfilment of a prophecy which we received 10 years ago which we did not do anything about but had allowed God to orchestrate everything; and only since January this year we concretised our plans to be in Perth). So we headed out that afternoon to that plot.

When we arrived and got out of our car to recce the area, we saw a car drive into the neighbouring house. So we approached him and asked him how living is like in that area. He said he's not the owner but he's giving piano lessons to a kid of the owner of the house.
So he said, "let me ask the owner to come out."

The owner came out and he introduced himself as David and we started chatting. Through our conversation, we realised he's a fellow believer and is the brother of an acquaintance of ours, Jordan, whom we are supposed to meet in week 1 here!(We had met Jordan briefly before in Singapore through another organic church meeting and he and his family moved back to Perth 6 months ago from Maldives). David was not supposed to be home that early but because he had caught the movie Avengers earlier with Jordan so he came home early from work!

Talk about a "starling moment" ..

If Jason and i had arrived any minute earlier or later, we would not have met the piano teacher and then the brother of our friend!
It turned out that he previously had a work experience recruiting students for one of the universities here and had also helped many foreign students for job placements and now is running his own migration service business called Unireach!

The Holy Spirit literally sent us knocking on the door of David. What are the chances! 1 in 2. 2 million!

Uni students have been on our hearts and is one of the people groups God's called us to reach and disciple here. In fact before leaving Singapore, discipling uni students to disciple others has been a big part of my ministry for the past 25 years of my journey with Jesus since I came to Christ at 18. And when Jason and i were introduced to Neil Cole 6 years ago, our disciple-making strategy was "upgraded" from discipling-one-to-disciple-another, to identifying persons of peace to disciple missional communities with kingdom DNA(in short explanation, its Divine Truth - 1st commandment, Nurturing Relationships - 2nd commandment, Apostolic mission - the Great commission Matt28:18-20) - see picture from one of Neil's trainings we hosted in Singapore recently in April.

Just 2 days after, I bumped into David AGAIN and his whole family at one of the malls! So he became even more open and intentional to meet up and we all did just that yesterday! This is the beginning of something more for God's kingdom purposes.

Day 1 in Perth - we got our KEYS to our new car and to our "tent"-nanted apartment all in one morning! (picture also just came in as I was writing this sent by my dogs' foster family - Trixie was literally in a TENT with our friend's son Isaac! Well that's also another story of God's love and providence for my 2 beloved dogs.. ) I am certainly looking forward in faith to the "city whose Builder and Architect is God".

May God's kingdom come on earth as it already is in heaven. May Perth city become the city who's builder and maker is God!

To share a little background of why we have moved from Singapore to Perth, this journey started more than 10 years ago... About a decade ago, we had this word of prophecy given to us that we will one day be in Australia. (I can't remember when exactly now and who, I suppose it doesn't matter. I always wonder why people go to the who's-who for prophecies.. I mean God can even use a prebeliever or anything to speak to us if we are listening right!)

Last December we found ourselves thrown into the whirlwind of God. Our house in Singapore got sold in less than 1 week without any property agent (Dec is typically the worst month by statistics to sell a house in Singapore) and we were able to clear our mortgage debt(in Singapore, because of crazy prices of property, practically every couple starts out with a debt) when our 16 yo daughter decided to study overseas (we had not told her about any prophecy or anything to influence any bit of her decision). In choosing between the UK and Australia, she chose specifically Perth, Australia to study a specific course related to conservation and science. She has chosen not to go down the typical path of pursuing an "elite" education in Singapore and join the rat race there. (It is not an everyday happening that a teenager chooses to leave her comfort zone, her friends, and when she's already on the path to worldly success cos she's doing very well in school, to give that all up and go to a foreign country to pursue an area of studies where there are no big bucks in the making and in the eyes of every Singaporean "No job prospects"!)

Before leaving for Perth, my senior from law school whom I have not met in more than 10 years, who had no clue about the happenings in my life, called me after seeing my fb post that I was moving to Perth. He shared with me how he had had this dream about me several months ago(before we even decided that we should move actually! We only sealed our decision in January 2019.) standing in the middle of an open-air stadium and introducing Jason to him (he does not know Jason so hence, probably the intro). When he googled "Perth stadium", it looked exactly like the stadium in his dream! How awesome is Jesus! 👍🏻

So with some big steps of faith with simple obedience and lots of planning only in the last 3 months taken with regards to our family, house, dogs, our organic church communities in Singapore, missional businesses, we are here in Perth finally! We have planned our ways but the Lord has determined our steps. We saw God every step of the way, from the timing of the sale of the house to the handover of keys, to the time college starts for Elizabeth, to the securing of rental in Perth, right down to the sale of our ministry vehicle, as well as God's providence in providing a loving foster family for Snowie and Trixie. God's timing is impeccable!

If you would like to, come on this God-venture with me. I will blog from time to time.
